Duties & Responsibilities Performing building inspections Investigating complaints and, if necessary, instituting prosecution Receipt and scrutiny of building plans Calculation of building plans Enforcement of National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act (Act 103 of 1977) Enforcement of Occupational Safety and Health Act (Act 85 of 1993) Valuation of Council property Studying new building methods Updating building plans register Collection, preparation and processing of building plan statistics for Council and Central Statistics Service.
