The Langeberg Municipality has an irrigation channel system whereby water is feeded to properties with irrigation water rights through the title deeds of the erven. The irrigation water operate from September to May each year, according to the below listed schedule.

Should the water situation deteriorate the Municipality has the right to suspend Leiwater at short notice and implement Stage 1 water restrictions in all 5 towns.
