On 26 October 2015, the Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais, officially handed over two new sporting facilities to the communities of Ashton and Bonnievale.
For the 2014/2015 financial year, The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport allocated R500 000 for these two new facilities.
These facilities create a platform for our communities to participation in sport and assist in skills development and talent identification. The importance of sport is evident in reducing the crime and drug abuse statistics of these areas. Sport brings communities together in a wonderful relaxing and participatory environment and we trust our residents will benefit greatly out of these facilities for many years to come.
