ROADWORKS UNDERWAY IN ROBERTSON AND MONTAGU DURING JANUARY 2024

Road works at several streets in Robertson and Montagu have commenced from 15 January 2024 and will affect traffic for the following few weeks. Only half width sections of the road will be open during construction, and there may be temporary stop/go or detour routes in place.

During January – February 2024 the following areas will undergo construction works as part of the road infrastructure improvement project.

ROBERTSON

  • At the first part of Church Street, from the Johan de Jong crossroads to the Robertson Quarters Shopping Center, the construction of road edge kerbs and paving has begun.
  • At the intersection between Paul Kruger and Van Zyl Street in Robertson, the installation on road edge concrete beams and paving is in progress. The project involves the milling of the road edge, the installation of edge beams, paving and concrete works to raise manhole covers to the new road surface levels.

MONTAGU

  • Resurfacing of Visser and Van Wyk Street in Montagu is well underway. The next project identified in the road improvement plan will be communicated.

Where work areas may be temporarily demarcated the flag personnel will regulate traffic flow.

It is recommended that road users consider alternative routes.

Your co-operation is needed to ensure that vehicles are not parked in the demarcated areas during construction works.

We thank you for your cooperation and patience.
