YOUR PREPAID METER WILL STOP WORKING IF NOT UPDATED BEFORE 24 NOV 2024

All prepaid electricity meters in South Africa must be configured to accept the new tokens that will be generated after the Token ID (TID) Rollover on 24 November 2024.

If your prepaid meter is not updated by 24 November 2024, you will be left without access to electricity.

Langeberg Municipality has appointed Syntell, who are currently going from door-to-door to assist all households and businesses with this software configuration.

We urge all households to please cooperate in this initiative by allowing authorized Syntell officials access to your electrical meter, so that the meter continues to work after 24 November 2024 until 2045

As Syntell field workers could change throughout the project timeline, view the most recent updated pictures of the Syntell field workers on the Langeberg Municipal Website. (Click Here).

The project is already 29% complete, with visits already carried out in the following areas:

  • Zolani - completed (resident to make an appointment)
  • Ashton - completed (resident to make an appointment)
  • Nkqubela - completed (resident to make an appointment)
  • Robertson - completed (resident to make an appointment)
  • Bonnievale - completed (resident to make an appointment)
  • Montagu - in progress

The Syntell visit to your property will involve:

• An inspection of the electrical meter

• Gathering information about user

• Re-programme and enter special pair of key change tokens to existing electricity prepaid meters to comply with STS Edition 2

Prepaid meter users will need to recharge any vouchers you have already purchased. Once you have rolled over your software your prepaid meter will not accept any old tokens.

DID YOU MISS SYNTELL'S VISIT TO YOUR PROPERTY?

We require our residents to respond to the “No Access letter” by contacting the Syntell Service Desk, to schedule an appointment.

It should be noted that an appointment cannot take place during loadshedding.
