INFORMATION STATEMENT IN TERMS OF SECTION 33 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT: MUNICIPAL FINANCE MANAGEMENT ACT NO. 56 OF 2003, WITH REGARD TO CONTRACTS HAVING FUTURE BUDGETARY IMPLICATIONS
Notice is hereby given that the Langeberg Municipality intends to appoint a turnkey contractor for the delivery and management of low-cost housing projects for a period of 10 years. The Municipality has followed an open tender process.
The existing service provider only has four housing projects remaining which excludes other council approved new housing projects in its pipeline.
The contract will be for 10 years, and the total cost cannot be determined upfront as it is dependent on the approval of subsidy quantum’s by the Western Cape Department of Infrastructure annually.
In terms of section 33 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003 read with section 21A of the Municipal Systems Act, No 32 of 2000 the public is hereby invited to submit written comments or representations to the Director Community Services, Langeberg Local Municipality,52 Church Street, Robertson 6705 on or before 26 April 2024 or via e-mail to the following address: mmgajo@langeberg.gov.za
Any person who cannot write may come during office hours to 52 Church Street, Robertson 6705 where Mrs Marsha Brown (Manager: Housing Administration) of the municipality will assist that person to transcribe that person’s comments or representations.
