The Langeberg Traffic department main objective is to promote road safety. The duties of the department include:

  • All legislative/statutory requirements functions in terms of Traffic Management
  • Registration of motor vehicles
  • Registration of drivers licenses
  • Issuing of learners/drivers licenses
    • To make an appointment for a learners license test, please bring two ID size photo’s, your original ID, proof of residents and R68.00
  • Issuing of fines
  • Operating Licenses/ Public Transport
  • Point duties during emergencies
  • Law enforcement
  • Managing E-Natis system
  • Road markings /signs
  • Attending Court duties
  • Preparing Court Rolls
  • Testing of all vehicles
  • Serving of Warrant of Arrests
  • Scholar training/ patrol
  • Education and Training
  • Escort duties
  • Security Services: to perform security services to all vital municipal properties
