AREAS AFFECTED BY UNDERGROUND CABLE INSTALLATIONS AS PART OF THE CONNECTED LANGEBERG PROJECT

Dear Langeberg Residents,

We are excited to share that Langeberg Municipality is working on a new project called "A Connected Langeberg." This project is part of our overall plan to improve our community and is focused on providing better internet and technology services.

The goal of our project is to make sure everyone in Langeberg has access to reliable and affordable internet. This will help our essential services run more smoothly and quickly, making life easier for all residents.

One challenge we have faced is that our current internet connection relies on wireless technology, which is not always stable, especially with changing weather conditions. This means some residents may not be able to fully use our online services due to different factors, including economic ones. It is important to us that everyone can access these services without interruption.

To improve this, we have hired a contractor to install high-speed fibre optic cables at key locations. This will provide a faster and more dependable internet connection, helping us resolve issues more quickly and enhance service delivery.

As part of our vision for a Smart City, we need a strong internet connection to support various services, such as city safety through more security cameras and better engagement with the community. We are also working on a new telephone system that will benefit from these upgrades, making it easier for you to reach the Municipality.
