22 September 2023

On the 24th of September each year, we celebrate Heritage Day. This special day encourages all South Africans to embrace their culture, beliefs, and traditions. It's crucial that we not only celebrate our own heritage but also respect and acknowledge the diverse heritages within our municipal area and country.

Heritage is the heart of our communities, including cultural traditions, oral histories, performances, and more. It plays a crucial role in fostering diversity, social unity, and economic development.

This Heritage Day, let us come together as a nation to appreciate the richness of our shared history and the tapestry of cultures that make up South Africa. As we celebrate our heritage, let's also reflect on the importance of preserving and passing down these traditions to future generations, ensuring that our vibrant tapestry remains intact for years to come. Together, we can continue to build a more harmonious and inclusive society that draws strength from the mosaic of our diverse heritages.

On behalf of the Langeberg Municipality, I extend warm wishes to everyone for a happy Heritage Day celebration.

Alderman SW van Eeden
Executive Mayor of Langeberg Municipality
