LANGEBERG LIBRARIES HONOURS THEIR 2025 YEBONEERS AT AWARD CEREMONY
The Langeberg Libraries hosted a heartfelt Yeboneers Award and Farewell Ceremony on Friday, 05 December 2025, at Hennies Restaurant in Robertson. The event celebrated the dedication, growth, and meaningful contributions of the 2025 Yeboneers who served across the municipal library system.
The ceremony formed part of Langeberg Libraries’ ongoing commitment to recognising youth development and service excellence. It provided an opportunity to formally acknowledge the hard work and positive impact made by the Yeboneers in supporting library programmes, community outreach, and improved service delivery throughout the year.
Certificates were awarded to the Yeboneers to honour their participation and achievements in the programme. These certificates are issued by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) and YearBeyond.org, recognising the Yeboneers’ commitment, skills development, and contribution to community upliftment.
Since the inception of the Yeboneers programme within Langeberg Libraries in 2022, library staff have consistently hosted an annual farewell and recognition event as a gesture of appreciation. This tradition reflects the department’s pride in the role the Yeboneers play and the lasting value they add to both the libraries and the communities they serve.
Ms. Felicia Gumede, Manager: Libraries, extended her sincere gratitude to all the Yeboneers for their service and dedication and wishes them every success and fulfilment in their future endeavours.
