OFFICE CLOSURE OPERATIONS DURING THE FESTIVE SEASON
The municipal administrative offices, traffic offices and libraries will be temporarily closed from 12:45 on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 and will re-open on Monday, 05 January 2026.
Normal standby, refuse removal and emergency services will still be rendered during this period.
Account payments and electricity purchases:
Outside pay-points will be open for payments of accounts at the following vendors:
• Ashton: Usave, Pep Stores
• Bonnievale: Usave, Pep Stores
• Montagu: Ackermans, Spar, Shoprite, Pep Stores, Absa Bank
• Robertson: Ackermans, PnP, Shoprite, Usave, Spar, Checkers, Absa Bank

Waste removal:
On the public holiday of 16 December 2025 refuse collection will continue as normal with waste facilities open from 08:00 – 16:00.
On the public holidays of 26 December 2025 refuse collection will continue as normal with waste facilities open from 08:00 – 15:00.
No refuse will be removed on 25 December 2025. This collection will be done on 26 December 2025.
No refuse will be removed on 01 January 2026. This collection will be done on 02 January 2026.
Sewage removal requests will be scheduled to take place on the following days:
- Monday, 22 December 2025
- Tuesday, 23 December 2025
- Wednesday 24 December 2025
- Monday, 29 December 2025
- Tuesday, 30 December 202
- Wednesday, 31 December 2025
- Friday, 2 January 2026
No sewage removal services will be rendered on 25 and 26 December 2025 and 01 January 2026.
To ensure sewage removal between Christmas and New Year, please submit your requests by 11:00 on 17 December 2025. If sewage removal is needed on short notice, you will be responsible for the charges, which will include after-hours fees per load and costs per kilometre.
If you have any enquiries regarding sewage removal throughout the festive season, please contact the Call Centre. Sewage removal will resume as usual from Monday, 5 January 2026.
Swimming pool:
The municipal swimming pool will be open throughout the holidays, but will be closed on 16, 25 and 26 December 2025 and 01 January 2026.
Community facilities:
Bookings for use during the closing period will be accepted until 17 December 2025. Superintendents will ensure access to the booked facilities.
Renewal of informal trading licenses:
Bookings for January 2026 should be completed by 15:00 on Thursday, 18 December 2025.
Irrigation water supply:
Due to the low levels of storage dams as well as the seasonal rainfall forecast, irrigation water (leiwater) supply in Robertson and McGregor will be suspended from Friday, 12 December 2025. Consumers will be notified when irrigation water is reinstated.
Parks and nature reserves:
Montagu's Cogmanskloof, Bloupunt, Badkloof, and Lovers Walk hiking trails will be open, except for public holidays. Hiking permits can be obtained from the reception office at the start of the trail.
- The Klipspringer huts, lapa picnic area and Akkerbos picnic site is temporarily closed.
- The Arangieskop and Dassieshoek hiking routes in Robertson, which include accommodation, are fully booked for the holiday season.
The Parks & Amenities office for general bookings will close from 23 December 2025 until 05 January 2026.
Grave sales:
To receive a grave number for burial, the public and funeral undertakers can make payment to Montagu Absa bank, Langeberg Municipality,
Account no: 105 0000008, using the reference "Graves, surname of deceased" and present the proof of payment and burial order/death certificate to the graveyard staff.
