Government encourages all South Africans to submit their views and suggestions ahead of the 2026 National Budget, to be tabled by the Minister of Finance on 25 February 2026.

Members of the public are invited to provide input on government spending priorities, addressing the large budget deficit, stabilising State-owned entity finances, energy and water investments, tax policies, debt sustainability, municipal finances, and other economy-related topics.

Submissions can be made to the National Treasury via the Budget Tips platform at: https://shorturl.at/C09Zq

The public is advised to ensure that contributions are concise, clear and to the point, and do not exceed 300 words.

The National Budget seeks to maintain a balance within South Africa’s fiscal framework, fund the priorities of the seventh administration, and mitigate the impact of funding requirements on the poor and middle-income households.
