TRAFFIC REDIRECTION: VOORTREKKER STR, ROBERTSON 09 MARCH - 17 APRIL 2026

The Municipality would like to inform residents and road users that traffic redirection along a section of Voortrekker Street is required due to emergency sewer pipeline repair works. 

A sewer pipeline failure occurred in December 2025, resulting in the collapse of a section of the underground line. In order to permanently resolve the issue, a contractor has been appointed to replace the damaged pipeline and connect it to the new sewer system. 

Road users will experience the following detour:

• A section of Voortrekker Street will be temporarily closed to the public. Traffic will be diverted from two lanes into one lane per direction.
• During the period when wind turbine components are transported through Robertson, one directional traffic will be managed by the contractor.

We kindly ask motorists to drive with caution in this section of road and adhere to the traffic signs.
