UPDATE ON ZOLANI WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION
Langeberg Municipality would like to inform the Zolani community of the facts regarding the current water supply interruption being experienced in the area.
A mechanical breakdown occurred at the Zolani Pump Station on Saturday, 7 February 2026. Due to the seriousness of the breakdown, a service provider was appointed on an emergency basis to attend to the repairs. The service provider is currently on site, and it is anticipated that the pump station will be operational within the next two (2) hours, should no further technical challenges arise.
Once the pump station is fully functional, the reservoir levels must first recover to acceptable levels before water can be safely released into the distribution network. This process may take additional time after the repairs are completed.
In addition, vandalism was reported last night at the single reservoir in Ashton, which supplies water to the Zolani Reservoir. This incident has further impacted the water supply system. Municipal teams are attending to this matter urgently to minimise the effect on Zolani’s water supply.
Taking all factors into account, Langeberg Municipality anticipates that water supply to Zolani will be reinstated by late afternoon today, provided that no unforeseen issues occur.
The Municipality acknowledges the frustration and hardship caused by the interruption and assures residents that restoring the water supply remains a top priority. We appeal to the community for patience and understanding while these emergency repairs are being finalised.
Further updates will be communicated as progress is made.
