YOUR GUIDE TO REPORTING MUNICIPAL SERVICE REQUESTS CORRECTLY

Langeberg Municipality is committed to providing residents with a reliable and efficient way to report municipal service delivery issues. Our 24/7 Emergency and Customer Care Call Centre ensures that complaints are logged, assigned to the relevant department and monitored until they are resolved.

Every reported complaint receives a reference number, allowing residents to follow up on its progress while helping the Municipality monitor service delivery and identify recurring issues that require attention.

What can be reported?
Residents can report a wide range of municipal service delivery issues, including:

  • Water and Sanitation Services
  • Roads and Stormwater
  • Electricity Services
  • Environmental Services

How to report a complaint
Municipal service delivery issues can be reported through any of the following channels:

  • WhatsApp: 065 211 7822
  • Call: 0860 88 1111 / 023 615 2219
  • Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  • Collab Citizen App: Download the app to report municipal service requests.
  • Fire Emergencies Only: 023 615 8911

Please note: During load shedding, landlines may be unavailable. We recommend using our WhatsApp or calling 061 005 6381 during these periods.

What happens after you report a complaint?
A trained operator will capture your complaint on the Municipality's customer care system and notify the relevant department or directorate for investigation and action. To help us process your complaint as quickly as possible, please provide:

  • Your full name
  • Contact number
  • Physical address or the location of the problem
  • A clear description of the issue

Once your complaint has been logged, you will receive a reference number via SMS. Please keep this number, as it will be required when following up on your complaint.

How to follow up
If you would like an update on a logged complaint, simply:

  • Send a WhatsApp message and quote your reference number.
  • Call the Customer Care Call Centre and provide your reference number.
  • Send an email and include your reference number.

Having your reference number available enables our operators to locate your complaint quickly and provide you with an update.

Reporting via WhatsApp
Our Customer Care Call Centre receives a high volume of requests every day. During July 2026, the Call Centre processed more than 1,790 new complaints, excluding follow-up enquiries. Of these, 1,115 complaints were received via WhatsApp, making it the Municipality's most-used reporting channel and surpassing telephone calls.

To help us respond more efficiently, we encourage residents to send text messages instead of voice notes wherever possible, as voice notes take longer to process. Every complaint is logged, allocated to the relevant department and monitored until it is resolved. We appreciate your patience while our staff work diligently to assist every resident as quickly as possible.

Don't Just Post It. Report It.
The Municipality's social media platforms are designed to share news, notices and community information, as well as engage with residents. They are not the official channels for reporting municipal service delivery issues.

We have noticed that some service delivery issues are shared on social media without first being reported through the Municipality's official reporting channels. If a complaint has not been logged with the Customer Care Call Centre, it cannot be allocated to the relevant department, tracked or monitored.

For service delivery issues requiring urgent attention, please use the Municipality's official reporting channels, including the 24-hour Customer Care Call Centre, WhatsApp, email or the Collab Citizen App.

Please note that the Municipality's social media platforms are monitored during office hours only. Reporting a fault through the correct channels helps us respond more efficiently and ensures your complaint receives a reference number for follow-up.

Help Us Improve Our Call Centre Service
We value your feedback. Once your enquiry has been resolved by our Call Centre, please let us know whether you were satisfied with the service you received. Your feedback helps us measure the quality of our Call Centre service, identify areas for improvement, and ensure we continue to provide efficient and responsive service to our community.

By reporting service delivery issues through the correct channels, you help the Municipality respond more efficiently, monitor service requests and improve service delivery across the Langeberg Municipal area.
