NOTICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 116(3) OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT: MUNICIPAL FINANCE MANAGEMENT ACT, 2003 (ACT 56 OF 2003) FOR THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF THE EXISTING AGREEMENT: 

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 116 (3) (a) and (b) of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003 (Act 56 of 2003) that it is the intention of the Langeberg Municipality to extend the following existing contract:

Notice is hereby further given in terms of Section 21 and 21A of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) that the local community and affected parties are invited to submit comments or representations on the proposed amendment of the contract. Such comments or representations must be submitted by not later than the 18 June 2025 at 12:00. 

Comments or representations must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly endorsed “COMMENTS ON NOTICE OF AMENDMENT OF EXISITING CONTRACT and be physically deposited in the tender box, at the Langeberg Municipal Offices, 28 Main Road, Ashton, 6715.

Any person who cannot write may come during office hours to 28 Main Road, Ashton 6715 where Mr U Nakasa (Manager Revenue Services) of the municipality will assist that person to transcribe that person’s comments or representations.

No faxed or email comments will be considered.

Application is made to extend the trading hours as follows:
Friday through to 2am on Saturday.
Saturday through to 2am on Sunday.
Sunday 14h00 to 1am on Monday

pdf SPAZA SHOP SUPPORT FUND

The aim is to support township Community Convenience Shops, including spazas. The funding will be utilised for the refurbishment of businesses and facilitating wholesale aggregation. Such businesses will be provided with financial and non-financial support in terms of technical skills, support for regulatory compliance and capacity building.
The objective is to:
• increase the participation of South African owned Spaza Shops in the townships and rural areas’ retail trade sector 
• provide safe and affordable products and services to Township and Rural Community residents
• strengthen and support locally-owned spaza shops by building capacity, enhancing operational efficiency, and enabling access to competitive pricing through partnerships
• help Spaza shops tap into bulk purchasing benefits and business support to boost their sustainability and competitiveness

In order to access the funding, applicants need to apply to NEF and SEDFA through the prescribed application process outlined on the relevant institution’s website.
