Following the launch of the awareness campaign on the application process held on 25 March 2022 in Cape Town, the Commission will be conducting campaigns across the 9 provinces.

The Commission will conduct the awareness campaign in Western Cape as follows:

Venue: Parow Civic Centre, 12 Talent Road, Glenlilly, Cape Town.

Time : 10h00 – 16h00

The campaign will cover the criteria for recognition of Khoi-San communities and leaders, application forms and other provisions of the Act in relation to applications as well as the specific time-frames within which applications for recognition can be submitted and dealt with. The application process was opened on Wednesday, 30 March 2022, and will close on Friday, 29 March 2024.

Communities that meet the criteria set out in the Act may lodge a detailed application in writing with the Commission.

This letter serves as notice of the Official Public Participation Process for the proposed development. The commenting period will be from 10 June 2022 until 11 July 2022.
