PUBLIC MEETING: LOWER KEISIE RIVER MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT PLAN

The Langeberg Municipality is making progress with the compilation of the Lower Keisie River Maintenance Management Plan (MMP).

Landowners and persons in control of land within the affected area are hereby invited to attend the First Public Meeting, where the infrastructure survey undertaken and specific areas identified for rehabilitation and/or restoration will be discussed.

The objective of the MMP is to enable restorative activities that may be required following flood or climate-change events, while maintaining both ecological integrity and infrastructure.

A Second Public Meeting will be scheduled at the same venue to discuss the Method Statements relating to infrastructure maintenance. The date and time will be communicated in due course.

Please also note that a formal Public Participation Process will be undertaken in terms of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2014, as amended under the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA). Stakeholders will be notified when the MMP is available for review and comment.
