NOTICE: DAMAGING WINDS CAUSE SERVICE DISRUPTIONS

Power supply is currently down in parts of Montagu (Ward 7) for an undetermined time, due to infrastructure damage caused by strong winds. Municipal electricians are working to restore supply as quickly as possible. Always treat electrical installations as live, as power may be restored at any time, without notice.
FALLEN TREES
Strong winds have caused trees to fall, posing potential safety risks.
We have received reports of a large tree that has fallen at the corner of Loop and Piet Retief Street, Robertson, at Boesak Street, Montagu and another incident at Lovers walk area, Montagu.
Please report fallen trees immediately to the 24/7 Customer Call Centre so that municipal teams can respond quickly and ensure public safety.

FIRE NEAR ASHTON
A veld fire in the mountains above Kogmanskloof, outside Ashton, was reported in the early morning of 16 September and is currently being monitored by the Cape Winelands District Municipality and Langeberg Municipal Fire Services. At present, there is no immediate threat to property or infrastructure. The teams remain hopeful that the light drizzle in the area will continue and help extinguish the fire.
Residents are urged to stay alert and report any flare-ups to the CWDM Fire Service Control Centre at 021 887 4446, or alternatively to the Langeberg Municipal dedicated fire line at 023 615 8911.
