NOTICE TO RESIDENTS: WATER SUPPLY TO MONTAGU & AVALON SPRINGS

Dear Residents,

We would like to inform you of a recent issue affecting the water supply to Montagu and Avalon Springs.

Two pumps at the Ashbury Reservoir work alternately to supply water to the Badshoogte Reservoir, which then provides water to Avalon and Montagu Springs. Unfortunately, one of these pumps broke down and was sent for emergency repairs.

During this time, the remaining pump could not meet the high-water demand, especially over the past three days, resulting in a significant drop in the Badshoogte Reservoir levels. Consequently, residents may have experienced low water pressure.

The repaired pump was reinstalled today at approximately 13:00 . Water pressure in the affected areas will be restored as soon as the Badshoogte Reservoir reaches sufficient capacity. Based on current usage trends, we anticipate that normal pressure will return by early this evening, depending on water demand.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our teams will continue to monitor the reservoir levels closely to ensure a stable water supply.
